Department of Pathology - Santosh University

 

World Blood Donor’s  Day was celebrated on 14th June 2022 at Maharaja hall in Santosh Medical College and Hospital, Santosh deemed to be University, Ghaziabad. The event was organized by Department of Pathology and Blood Center, Santosh  Medical College, and Hospital. The guest of honor was Head of Department Pathology Prof. Dr. Malay Bajpai. Other participant faculties were Prof. Dr. P.K. Garg ( Professor Deptt. Of Pathology), Dr. Mayurika Tyagi ( Associate Professor, Deptt. Of Pathology) , Dr. Geeta (Professor Deptt. Of Microbiology), Dr. Abhishek Pathre ( Assistant Professor Deptt. Of Pathology). MBBS 1st-year and 2nd-year students also joined the event. A powerpoint presentation was done by Dr.Aarthi K.B., Dr. Ashi, Dr. Pratibha Chaudhary, Dr. Anish Patel M.D. students Department of  Pathology, and Dr. Lalita and Dr. Nahid M.D. students of Department Of Microbiology. Topics discussed were Donor selection, deferral criteria, blood collection, adverse blood transfusion reactions, and transfusion transmissible reactions. Poster presentation competition was held and first was position was acquired by Dr. Sahil Puniya and the team (MBBS second year).All participants were encouraged to donate blood and blood donation oath ceremony was held.Such activities should be organised on a large scale to promote blood donation as well as the importance of blood donors in society.
